This is my handsome Dad who was born in the Jim Crow era South with little opportunity. He moved to New York and became a success story holding down two jobs for years just to take care of mom and his four children. One of those jobs was as a stagehand on Broadway. That's right, Dad was on Broadway! And for his last play, Lés Misérables, he was even cast as an extra! I'm so proud of him! Miss and love you Dad, forever and always. xoxo

I still cannot believe my BFF, Alicia, is no longer here! We grew up together as kids and lost connection in our teen years. We reconnected in adulthood and became very close. She would often visit during holidays, attend my crazy parties and even escorted me to my cousin's wedding. Lisa was a beautiful soul that left us too soon. Love you Lisa! xoxo

I adored my beautiful aunt, Desima Jean! I loved everything about her. Her beauty, her style, her conversations and of course, her cooking! She was the best cook! Her pastries were the best! Her carrot cake was the best! Auntie was a great hairstylist, but she missed her calling as a pastry chef :). Love and miss your beauty and grace, auntie. xoxo

My handsome friend, Scott passed away earlier this year (2021). I met Scott back in the 90's. He was the coolest guy whose smile lit up a room! We lost touch in recent years and this summer I wanted to reach out. His last phone number and email address didn't work, so I Googled his name and his death notice popped up. It didn't sink in until I saw that his sister confirmed it on her Facebook page. I was heartbroken. Scott had moved back to Boston where he was raised, and one of my last conversations with him was me promising to visit. I never did and now I wish I had. Love and miss you friend. xoxo
